Mauve Gradient

Here is a smooth gradient I did the other day utilizing 2 polishes that can give off that mauve-y grandma tone that some people don't care for. I actually like it and I think the gradient fade makes it much more interesting.

The 2 polishes I used are both Wet N Wild Megalasts.

Sation - Holiday Golightly Collection

 The Sation Holiday Golightly Collection is now up on their website for sale. $5 per polish.

 

First up, Under the Miss-tletoe. Described as "a pearlescent pine green"

A rich blue toned green with fine shimmer. Pictured is 3 coats.

I Love Yule is "a rich, velvety poinsettia red."

Pictured is 2 coats. It's more of a raspberry red, rather than a cherry red.

Let's Mingle & Jingle is "a silver-spangled sapphire blue."

Pictured is 3 coats. A rich blue with 2 sizes of holographic glitter.

Holiday Golightly is "a glistening Robin's egg blue."

Pictured is 3 coats. Basically a Tiffany blue with fine shimmer.

 Side by side with China Glaze For Audrey, identical except the shimmer.

Feliz Navi-doll is "an icy crystalline grayish-white."

Pictured is 3 coats. I don't have anything quite like it in my collection.

Stop Scrooging Around is "a gold-sparkled ruby wine."

Pictured is 3 coats. It reminds me of Cult Nails Iconic, but with glitter instead of flakies.

Neener Neener Nails - Ice Princess & Snow Confetti

Neener Neener Nails is an indie brand on etsy. They were nice enough to provide these polishes for me to review. I have Ice Princess & Snow Confetti.

They take great care to make the packing special with some tulle and ribbon.

 

Ice Princess is "a light mint green cream/jelly base with rainbow turquoise glitter and holo stars."

Pictured is 3 coats. And they were slightly troublesome. I had to fish out the stars, and then I would wind up with too much of the base polish on the brush and it would flood & pool. It was pretty tricky. I also had to allow a fair amount of dry time between coats because it would drag and streak if I didn't. The finished look is nice, but I don't care for the visible nail line.

 

The glitter in my bottle had nearly all settled to the side during shipping.

That made fishing for stars even more difficult.

Snow Confetti "is a creamy white base polish with red,purple, orange, pink, yellow and blue fine glitter."

Pictured is 3 coats. This one was much more manageable, but I did still have to leave a bit of dry time between coats because it wanted to drag too.

This glitter in this one had settled to the side during transit as well.

KleanColor, Santee, & Nabi - Quick Swatches

These products were sent to me for review by MyWholesaleFashion.com. They offer various cosmetics as well as jewelry and other fashion accessories.

Prices are reasonable and they have lots of variety, so check it out!

 

I got worried when I picked up the package and it smelled like polish.....

They had simply tossed them in a box with one layer of bubble wrap to cushion.

 One bottle of KleanColor had broken and the entire bottle leaked all over the others. :(

The good news is that when I contacted them to show them what happened, they were very apologetic and offered to send a replacement shipment. So thumbs up to their customer service.

I'll save the words on this product review, because honestly nobody really reads long posts anyhow! We all know you come here just for the pictures, and not so much my lack-luster wit. ;)

All of these polishes applied the same, the formulas were pretty good, some of the brushes were a little wonky, most all of them smell awful and full of chemicals...

First up are the Kleancolors:

 

Lavenbaby - 2 coats

 

Coffee Addict - 2 coats

 

Metallic Pink - 2 coats

 

Cobalt - 2 coats

Chunky Holo Teal - 2 coats over Cobalt

Chunky Holo Black - 2 coats over Sinful Colors Black on Black

Santee is a brand I had not heard of before, but it offered nice coverage and colors if you can get past the potent odor.

 

Aqua - 2 coats

this is more teal in real life, but of course it proved impossible to photograph :(



Eggplant - 2 coats

nice subtle silver shimmer!

Navy Blue - 2 coats

 

And lastly, the 2 Nabi's.

These do NOT have name labels on the bottles, unless I'm totally blind....

 

N30 Red Red - 2 coats

 

N46 Multi Heart - 2 coats over Red Red

this proved to be a difficult fishing expedition....

Most of these polishes were opaque in 1 coat, but I pictured 2 just for neatness. I decided to do a small test run of how they stamp over dark and light colors. I painted both black and white polish on my nails and stamped as follows:

 

Left top - Santee Eggplant ; bottom - KleanColor Coffee Addict

Middle top - Santee Aqua ; bottom - Santee Navy Blue

Right top - KleanColor Cobalt ; bottom KleanColor Metallic Pink

 A beautiful milky pale blue base with blue and white small glitter. Pictured is 3 coats.

Applied slightly patchy, but evened out in the end.

Hurry Down The Chimney Tonight

 A clear base with irregular red and white glitter. Some are shreds, others are bars.

The white is matte, while the red is metallic.

Christmahanakwanzika

This polish has glitters in the colors of those 3 holidays. Here I layered it over Sally Hansen Celeb City to show you how it builds. It actually makes me think of a circus!
