Baby Themed

Today we're going out of town for Kimberly to have her 4D ultrasound. We'll get to see the baby better now that she is 27 weeks along. We already know that it will be a boy and he is healthy so far, so we are very excited to get a good look at him. :) I wanted to do some special baby nail art for the occasion.
I wanted it to be a somewhat muted design with just a few accents of baby items.

I started with Orly's Pink Slip as my french manicure base. It hides staining and gives a healthy pink glow. 2 coats. Once that had dried (for a few hours) I taped off the tips and added China Glaze Bahamian Escape as the french tip color. My bottle is a bit aged... so the polish has thickened up enough to only require one coat.

Then I added more Bahamian Escape along the edge of the french tip, slightly spaced, to create a scalloped edge.

Then I added all of my other elements using polish and freehanding everything.

I used: Orly Pink Slip, China Glaze Bahamian Escape, Refresh Mint, Lemon Fizz, & Something Sweet.

I've never tried taking a shot of both hands like these, so I thought I'd give it a go.

I'm really happy with how they turned out and excited to peek in a my new nephew! I'll have plenty more baby nail art as the baby shower comes around!

  12. This is so cute - and such good free-hand - congrats on that. It's hard to do free hand shapes and make them look like a real anything. I seem to draw stick figures, flowers & waves - that's it!
