Revlon Blues

I have a friend that is into the show "Extreme Couponing." She is now a mini version of those people and tries to teach the rest of us how to get the good deals also. I'll admit that a lot of it is going over my head. If I can just buy what I need, when I need it, and not have to do crazy math? I'll just buy it at retail price. Money is not that big of an issue for me. However, I think I might have a grasp on the CVS rewards card finally. I bought these two Revlon polishes and after rewards were used and coupons applied.... I paid $1.74 for each polish. So that's pretty good in my book. And after checkout, it printed me out another $6.00 coupon that can be applied to anything on my next trip to CVS. So I left very happy! :) Maybe I should go back and buy more....

I got Revlon Blue Lagoon first up:
This was 3 coats. It was only slightly less streaky in application when compared to my other light blues.
It does have a pretty awesome shimmer to it.

In this pic I replaced the polish on my middle finger with my closest dupe possibility. Hard Candy Sky. As you can tell, they are very different. The shimmer is not the same and Sky is much lighter.
I'm glad to add this to my collection!

Next up is Revlon Royal.
I kept putting off buying this because I have so many other great navy blues. (One of my all time favorites is OPI Dating a Royal) For $1.74 I went for it. I have to say it looks much better in real life. My pictures all show a horrific amount of visible nail line that was not present in person. I don't know what that's all about.

This was 3 coats as well. Super easy application, it dries to a strange plasticy finish. Almost half matte. Not my favorite part, would definitely require a topcoat when I wear this one.
I'm a sucker for blue polishes. They are the dominate color in my entire stash. Runner up is purple, but I think that's mostly because that is the color scrubs I have to wear at work. So I buy purple polishes to wear more for work. Blue polishes are because I love blue!

  9. I got Blue Lagoon and loved it for the first few uses, but all of my Revlons went SUPER crappy after a few uses.

  10. wow! nice blues. I wonder if Blue Lagoon is supposed to be a dupe of coco Blue Chanel? didn't realize it had shimmer, or I would have gotten one long ago. Looks nice! Royal is a navy jelly which is very different. that is why the VNL and weird finish. it is good to franken with and layer with, I have heard. have fun

  11. I have Revlon Blue Lagoon and whenever I apply it, it goes on smooth but then it dries to a weird bumpy texture. It looks almost like little air bubbles, but they're not air bubbles. Does yours do the same? I love the color but I hate the texture when it dries.
