Blue V-French

This is just something simple that I did the other day. It's actually my first real "success" when using scotch tape in my manicures. Usually I'm too impatient and pull up the base polish along with the tape. I was patient and took my time, and it worked!

Here's how I did it.
2 coats of Essie Coat Azure (one of my favorite polishes of all time!)

Tape off the "V" shape and painted the tips with Hard Candy Sky, one thick coat. Removed tape.

Striper brush and Essence Deep Blue Sea to outline.

Add a clear rhinestone to the point.
 Bottle shots:

Hehe as I type this I realize what this reminds me of....
Betty's dress in my previous Flintstone nail art! Original post here.

  6. Love this! I know that I can always count on you to have a new post up in the morning when I wake up! :o) Love your blog, even though I have never commented before. I just opened up a blog, so I realize now how important it is to let comment on fellow bloggers so they know they aren't writing to nobody! LOL. Keep up the amazing work!

  12. I've tried once or twice to do a tape mani and got hobbibly frustrated when my base polish ripped up. Do you haave any tips? Do you have to let the base dry a really long time, like a few hours? What about speed of removing tape? Should you topcoat the base with Seche Vite? I want to do tape manis, but I don't want to waste time messing them up. This is beautiful, btw. :)

  13. thanks to everyone!

@Sonoma Bento - Hmmm... any tips? Not really. I'm not too great with tape mani's either. The base does have to be really dry. Over night is best, but I think a few hours would suffice. I usually pull my tape off slowly, because the kind I have has a tendency to rip and leave tiny pieces stuck to my nail! Use of Seche? Idk, I've tried that before and still managed to pull up the base color. I think waiting is probably best.
